    We have not had the best weather for golf this winter between the rain, cold and snow; therefore, most of us have gotten a little soft and out of shape.

    To prepare, we must realize that even though we are riding carts when playing, there is still a lot of walking. With all the rain in December and January, many days have been cart path only. This means walking from the cart path out to the ball, while carrying two or three clubs. It is difficult to judge the distance until you get to see what the lie of the ball is like and celebrate what golf club to use. The elevation and wind must be part of the equation to be considered. The ball will usually be on the opposite side of the fairway increasing our walk...

    In my mother- in laws declining years we became more frequent visitors to the home place. Those visits stirred memories and feelings in my husband that had lain dormant during the busy years of career and child rearing. When he sat down to his mother's kitchen table, he was a boy again. He felt the warmth of the oven. He ran his hands over the oilcloth table cover and settled into the sturdy chairs that once seated six hungry children....

Senior citizens in our community have much to contribute to the civic dialogue. However, many seniors lack the skills and opportunities necessary to use all the tools available to them to tell their stories. The BGTIME program was developed to help bridge this divide between senior citizens and digital media. More
