Meet Blackie Meadows

'Blackie' Meadows is a native of Tennessee and came with her husband to Columbia to build Carolina Eastman, a division of Eastman Kodak. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Duke University and her Master of Education from the University of South Carolina. Meadows, a former teacher and substitute teacher, was always active in church and community affairs. She was a Junior League member and chair of the board of her church day care center. Meadows and her husband en-joyed international travel and after his death, she traveled widely and made four bicycle trips in Europe. She has two children and four grandchildren.
